Pakistan National Shipping Corporation to relaunch its hockey team

KARACHI Oct 14: Pakistan National Shipping Corporation Chairman Arif Elahi has assured Karachi Hockey Association of relaunching its hockey team for the promotion of the sport.

KHA Secretary Syed Haider Hussain recently met PNSC chairman to discuss the possibility of reviving PNSC hockey team, which once used to be top teams of the country.

Arif Elahi said being a national organization, PNSC had been involved in promoting health, education and sports as corporate social responsibility.

Therefore, he said, nothing could be better than promoting our national sport, hockey. In this regard, he said, he would give some positive news soon.

KHA Secretary had been actively involved in convincing departments to revive or launch their hockey teams. Only recently Karachi Development Authority has revived its hockey team after efforts and coordination with KHA.

During the meeting, Haider Hussain congratulated Arif Elhai on being promoted to grade 22. He also presented a souvenir on behalf of the KHA President Juanid Ali Shah to the PNSC chairman.

Executive Director Administration Brig Rashid Siddiqui and sports organiser Ghulam Muhammad Khan was also present on the occasion.
