Two policemen gunned down in Garhi Yaseen

SHIKARPUR May 19: Two cops were gunned down by a few unidentified motorcyclist armed assailants over an ongoing old deadly dispute between two groups of Brohi and Kakepota tribesmen at Dakhan Nako in Garhi Yasin Town, in the limits of Garhi Yasin Police Station, some 15 km off from here, on Thursday morning.
According to SSP Shikarpur Zeeshan Siddique that two cops identified as Ghulab son of Shah Muhammad Brohi, resident of beside Soon Waah village, was posted in Kashmore-Kandhkot district while another cop identified as Nizamuddin son of Shahmeer Brohi, resident of Jhandi Brohi village, was posted in Kambar-Shahdadkot district, were sitting at local outlet when armed assailants opened indiscriminate firing on them over an ongoing old enmity developed some 30 years ago over a piece of Agricultural land which claimed 08 lives of Brohi community persons and 07 precious lives of Kakepota community persons so far, SSP added.
After committing crime, armed assailants fled from place of scene, riding on their motorcycles, SSP said.
SSP further said that, following on the information, he [SSP] rushed on the spot and moved the bodies of the deceased to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Garhi Yasin for post-mortem and after conducting post-mortem examination bodies were handed over to their heirs, SSP added.
SSP Zeeshan further added that I have issued strict orders for arresting involved accused in murdering police cops and no one would be allowed to take law into their own hands, SSP said.
Replying to an answer about the posting of deceased cops to other districts who belonged to Shikarpur, he said that according to an order [No. E.II-557/60, dated 06.01.2017 issued by Deputy Inspector General [DIG] Larkana Abdullah Shaikh, in compliance, both of the cops had been relieved on 17.02.2017 from Shikarpur to Qambar-Shahdadkot and Kashmore-Kandhkot district, SSP said.
Talking to this scribe, SSP further said that Shikarpur police have formed strategy against tribal disputes to cope further harm in future, SSP concluded.
It should be mentioned here that just in running week father and son were gunned down in Madeji town of Shikarpur district over an old enmity and one senior lawyer was also shot dead by armed men at Jahaz Chowk.
Neither an FIR was registered nor any arrested was made till this story was filed.
