Positive attitude turns society to development: Speakers

BADIN Sep 13: Positive attitudes of people can bring the society towards its developments. Strong coordination with different departments and institutes at each level would make the progress as an effective. USAID funded project “Enhancing water and sanitation governance access in two union council of District Badin” implemented by Indus consortium would be proved beneficial to the residents. This was an exemplary initiative under that community, district authorities, local government worked together.

These views were expressed by Mr. Jahan Khan Chandio, Chairman, Kadhan while addressing the participants of the event of closing ceremony of the project at Gym Khana Badin organized by Indus Consortium on Wednesday. The event was participated by the large number of participants including residents of union councils including women, men elected representatives, representatives of civil society, journalists and others.
Fida Hussain Mandhro, Member, District Council Badin while addressing the participants said that district council Badin have been received numerous schemes submitted by the representatives of the community supported by Indus Consortium regarding health and hygiene and water improvement. He ensured that he will try his level best to incorporate these schemes in upcoming budget of district council.
Addressing the participants of the event, Jamshed Fareed, Chairman, Indus Consortium said that we were fortunate that International Organizations like USAID were working for the progress and development of the local people.
Under the project outcomes representative of UC alliance Kadhan, Noor Nisa Jamali shared that they jointly collected around 500000 PKR and did cleaning of Rajwah canal. All the members of water user associations gave finical contribution as well as time to accomplish the task which resulted availability of water at the tail end of the area. In second case study villagers of Punjab chak UC Kadhan constructed 195 low cost latrines and make the village open defecation free village which is successes of the project.
On the occasion, Liaqat Ali, Iqbal Hyder Qambrani, Fiza Qureshi, Manager Program Implementation IC, Bakhtawar Mallah, Nazir Ahmed Jat, Amir Hassan Memon, Imtiaz Ahmed Bhurgari and others also addressed the participants.
When at event’s conclusion, the success stories were also produced which enthralled the participants and appreciation awards were also honored to elected representatives, representatives of Govt and Non-Govt institutes. On the occasion, local communities of targeted villages appreciated the efforts and support of small grants and ambassador fund porgramme and USAID which made possible development of the area.
