SUKKUR Jan 12:In order to educate people on traffic rules and regulations, National Highways & Motorways Police (NH&MP) on Thursday launched traffic awareness campaign and distributed pamphlets and booklets among the commuters.
Besides educating masses on the use of seat belt, observance of lane discipline and avoiding of over speeding and over loading, banners inscribed with different Road Safety Slogans were displayed at various locations on Motorways Sukkur and Ghotki, SSP Ghulam Sarwar Bhayo along with his team was present at Main Toll Plaza Rohri to create awareness between the drivers/road users of Motorways. Maximum NH&MP officers and vehicles were deployed on road at their respective areas during the exercise.
The SSP M-5 personally educated the masses regarding the use of seat belt, observance of lane discipline and avoiding of over speeding and over loading. The motorists were apprised about the new SMS service launched by M-5 through which road users can get latest road information by sending SMS.
A big stall was also arranged by the NH&MP (Sector M-5) at main Toll Plaza Rohri whereby road safety materials etc were displayed for the general public. The patrolling officers on road distributed pamphlets and booklets among the commuters. The officers of motorway M-5 briefed the motorists regarding the safety measures and observance of traffic laws while travelling on motorways. They also distributed pamphlets, ballpoints, key chains and sweet candies etc. among the motorists at main Toll Plaza Rohri- Sukkur.
