Four killed in ‘cylinder blast’ on Karachi-Hyderabad highway

KARACHI Feb. 23: At least four people were killed and as many including women wounded when a passenger van caught fire after the vehicle’s CNG cylinder supposedly exploded, officials said late on Sunday.

Initial reports suggest that an 18-seater van with 11 passengers onboard was en route to Karachi from Hyderabad when caught fire near Nooriabad, Jamshoro.

DIG Motorway A D Khawaja told the media that three passengers have been evacuated from the burning vehicle successfully. He said that a fire tender was busy in extinguishing the blaze.
