CM Sindh condemns imambargah terror attack, praises police efforts

SHIKARPUR Sept 15: The Chief Minister [CM] Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah visited Imambargah where a terror bid was foiled by the police. He was briefed about the incident by the Shia leaders.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister, strongly condemned the incident and claimed that the terrorists and their facilitators involved in Khanpur incident would not be spared and all out legal and moral resources would be utilized to destroy the terrorist network in Sindh for restoration of peace and tranquility at any cost. While whole of the country including Sindh are remaining under terrorists threat and the all actions are being taking by the federal and provincial governments to uproot the terrorist culture.
However, he called for the people of the province to extend cooperation and coordination to Sindh government as well as to Police and Rangers personnel to destroy the network of the terrorists organizations which caused to create insecurity and unrest in the province of Sindh particularly.
The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of police men to save the precious lives of the people while fighting with terrorist and succeeded in killing of one terrorists and arresting of the other.
On the other hand, Inspector General [IG] Sindh Police, AD, Khuwaja also visited Khanpur and announced Rs1.0 million to each police constable injured in Khanpur incident as a reward money while he claimed that the failure of the terrorists in committing the suicide bomb blasting at Khanpur was the output of the strict security network of police in the province.
While, SSP Shikarpur Umar Tufail has also announced Rs0.1 million to each police constable.
The activists of Shia Ulema Council and Shuhda Committee Shikarpur and Shia community men led by Allama Maqsood Ahmed Domki and other Shia leaders took out the protest rally and staged a demonstration on Khanpur Indus highway and blocked the road in protest against the Khanpur incident and demanded the early arrest of the terrorists and their facilitators involved in Khanpur incident.
Later, on the assurance of IG Sindh, the road was reopened for vehicular traffic.
Soon after the incident the search operation of the village Qazi Patti, Garhi Tegho and nearby villages including Shikarpur city and Khanpur town areas was conducted jointly by Police and Rangers and during the search operation more than 30 suspects detained.
On the complaint of Shia leader of Khanpur Syed Muhammad Shah Kazmi, the FIR no [106/2016] was lodged under terrorist act against four persons including arrested terrorist Usman Ali his killed companion Abdul Rahman and two facilitators Umar Brohi and Hafeez Brohi at Khanpur Police Station.
The Khanpur incident will be conducted by Counter Terrorism Department [CTD] Karachi, told SSP Shikarpur, Umar Tufail.
On the other hand, CTD, In-charge Raja Umar Khittab reached at Shikarpur and visited the crime scene at Khanpur and collected information.
Besides, GOC, Pano aqil, Major General Faiz, also visited the central Imambargah Khanpur, on Wednesday, the next day of the incident and received briefing by the local Shai leaders about the incident.
The GOC, Pano aqil, also announced Rs30,000 from his own pocket for each injured police constable as reward money, who bravely fought the terrorists and saved the lives of the hundreds of innocent people and held a high level meeting at SSP Office Shikarpur.
While, An Anti Terrorism Court [ATC] Shikarpur handed over to accused for 30 days to CTD, for further interrogation.
The Federal Interior Minister, Chuadhary Nisar Ali Khan, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PPP, Co-Chairmain Asif Ali Zardari and Sindh Assembly Speaker, Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, former MPA Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh and other social and city notables have strongly condemned the Khanpur incident and expressed their sympathies with injured police cops.
It should be remembered that, last year, at least 65 people had been killed and more than 100 others injured in suicide bomb blast took place at central Imambargah Shikarpur district during Friday prayer.
Similarly, another remote-control device bomb blast took place at Dargah Ghazi Ghulam Shah Shrine, which claimed 03 persons including Gaddi Nasheen, Syed Hajan Shah and left two dozens injured in 2013.
Separately, two suicide bomb blasts have been done by miscreants on former MNA, Dr Muhammad Ibrahim Jatoi, one of them at his native village Neperabad and other at Toll Plaza bypass Khanpur-Shikarpur road, which left 04 police personnel injured while he was remained safe and sound in both the suicide attacks.
Also, another suicide bomb blast occurred when Muharram procession near Sher Shah Haveli was on their way to their destination, which claimed 22 mourners and dozens wounded in suicide blast in Jacobabad neighbor of Shikarpur district in last year.
Besides, one another bomb blast attack took place on caravan of spiritual leader Syed Ghulam Hussain Shah “Kember-waro” near Shikarpur district, which claimed 01 precious life and left seven injured.
Whereas, at least 27 containers carrying Diesel and GPAT to Afghanistan caught fire when unidentified armed men fired rockets on them, near Sapna petrol pump at Shikarpur bypass in 2010.
