DC Badin vows to see polio free district

BADIN Jan 11: The Deputy Commissioner Badin Shoukat Hussain Jokhio has directed the officers of Health department including Assistant Commissioners of 5 Talukas, Non-Governmental Organizations, representatives of Civil Society and other key stakeholders to take special efforts for eradication of Polio virus across the district as it proved as polio free district of the Sindh.
While presiding a meeting of District polio eradication committee (DPEC), he stressed the key stakeholders to prepare a fresh micro plan according the requirement of World Health Organization (WHO) and ensure its completion within short a while to combat the alarming situation of polio virus prevailing in the district. Sindh Government as well as Commissioner were very concerned over the situation of surfacing of a polio case, he added.
Keith Felden, senior advisor, EOE Sindh for Polio & Abdul Wahid Bhurt, Regional head of W.H.O for polio are jointly striving to eradicate the polio across the Sindh specially they for Badin and are in coordination with the team at Union council level.
He would not spare to those officers who will find in negligency toward the polio campaign which will be launched soon in January 2017, he added. Furthermore, he said that at international level Badin was defamed due to polio cases spreading. On the occasion Dr. Kosar Mandhro, DHO, Health Department, Navid Larik, Assistant Commissioner, Badin Manzoor Siyal, AC, Malti, Dr. Imran-ul- Hassan, ADC-II Badin and Dr. Mohammad Nawaz Bhoot, ADC-I Badin were also present.
